World’s first flexible transparent OLED display
LG flexible transparent OLED display: LG Display Co. has successfully developed a 77-inch flexible and transparent organic light-emitting diode (OLED) panel for the first time in the world. The Korean panel maker unveiled the world’s first flexible and transparent OLED panels on Thursday.
The company’s new 77-inch flexible OLED display comes in a 40 percent transparency rate and 80mm radius of curvature. It also boasts an ultra-high definition (UHD) resolution and larger size of 77 inches than the original goal of making 60-inch panels, the company said.
The company developed an 18-inch flexible OLED panel in 2014 and a 55-inch transparent OLED panel with 40 percent transparency in 2016. It is the first time for LG Display or any of display makers across the world to succeed in producing a transparent OLED display that is also flexible.
